  1. Oh hey this looks familiar ;).

    When we hurt someone and convince ourselves that they deserved it, we’re more likely to hurt them — or other people like them — again.

    And as Jane Austen wrote in Sense and Sensibility, “when people are determined on a mode of conduct which they know to be wrong, they feel injured by the expectation of anything better from them.”

    I’ve read S&S only once. I’m sure it would reward rereads. P&P and Emma certainly did.
